Purpose of This Project

The video was created to help university students learn about the copyright system from the basics in an easy-to-understand way. Following the release of 8 videos in 2022, 15 videos were created and released in 2023. In 2024, the video was translated into English so international students and others could use it.

As internet use progresses, copyright becomes relevant in various situations in our daily lives, such as when posting on social media. For example, if you upload someone else's work to social media without permission and show it to many people, you will have infringed on the “public transmission right” of the copyright owner. On the other hand, there may be situations where we create copyrighted works and want to use them in a way that aligns with the author's intentions.

The Copyright Act aims to contribute to the development of culture by striking a balance between the fair exploitation of copyrighted works and the protection of the rights of the creators (authors, etc.). In the video, we will be looking at copyright from various angles through examples. We hope the video will help many people become more familiar with the rights of authors and users of copyrighted works and use them properly based on correct knowledge.
